Everyone in this day and age…Should have a dash cam!!! It has saved me twice!! I had a woman hit me at night and said that she didn’t see me when she came over on my car…my car was positioned a fourth ahead of hers and her passenger apparently was blind because he said he didn’t see me…we played show and tell…she told the cop one thing I showed him the truth! He told me that what she told him after I showed him the dash cam video was a different story!!

UA-cam has an obvious problem with being guilty with litigation. But videos are always the proof, without litigating the lies. Yes, show the reaction, after they lie and the cop views the video. Stupid will show brilliantly on video.

We got a dashcam and wanted to do a testdrive with it. It took exactly 30 seconds to witness an accident in our own street! We weren´t involved but it was good to have the footage.

A family friend of my parents got T-boned by a teenager doing about 40mp in a parking lot. The kid's friends physically pulled the cars apart while the friend who was hit kept telling them to stop. They told him to shut up if he knew what was good for him. One of them walked up from the phone booth he had been at (this was nearly 10 years before cell phones) and said "Mike (not real name) is on the way." Meantime, the kids pushed the cars around so that it looked more like the family friend's fault rather than the kid. A sheriff's deputy shows up. Guess who it is? Yep, it was "Mike." Knowing that he was now being framed and that the deputy would be in on it, the family friend had his wife go to the phone booth and call their attorney to tell him what was going on. Unfortunately for the deputy and the friends of the punk driver, said attorney was VERY good and had other deputies arrive at the site before the first deputy could get around to actually issuing charges. A private investigator showed up who was an expert at collision forensics and quickly demonstrated to the deputies that the vehicles had been moved by pointing out how the skid marks failed to match up and that the impact collapses were wrong for how the cars were touching. The 2nd and 3rd deputy told "Mike" to sit in one of their cars and not to move pending the arrival of the department's internal investigator. Punk's friends realized things were going pear-shaped and started to leave. Some got away, but only for a little while since the ones forced to stay by the deputies squealed and ratted out their names and addresses. In the end, it turned out that one of the businesses had a security camera that was running. Back then, the quality sucked, of course, but you could clearly see that the punk had T-boned the family friend's car and that the kids had pulled the cars apart to re-arrange them. In the end, punk was arrested on a variety of charges as well as his friends. (Mostly for interfering with a crime scene.) Family friend was called to testify at "Mike's" trial on a variety of charges. Never found out what happened to "Mike", but I'm pretty sure he was dismissed from the sheriff's department. Anyway, it's always good to have video evidence because people will lie their asses off to you. Edit: Also, did not know that K-marts were still a thing in 2017 as all the ones in my area had shut down by 2015.

I've had a dashcam longer than I've not had one. 8 years as a MP, 5 years as a Postal Inspector and 17 as a Deputy US Marshal. I'm amazed at the people that swear they are not at fault until the dashcam is mentioned, then it's a different story. Every car in my family has a front and rear facing camera.

We were also at a dead STOP 🛑 when we were rear ended 😫🤬 after that accident I was at the doctors constantly I ended up needing a hip replacement ALL BECAUSE OF A STUPID ACCIDENT. After an accident always call the COPS

As a former claims adjuster, Do NOT agree to do anything "one-on-one", people! If they're afraid of their rates going up, there's a good reason for it- this isn't their first rodeo. They SHOULD be paying more, or lose their insurance for their ignorance, and hopefully lose their license over it. Don't let them guilt trip you into accepting anything less than a claim against their policy.

Always let the other person tell their story to the police and if you can let them tell the insurance to and THEN go oh yeah. U wanna see the video of my dashcam. Then they get the trafick violation, lying to a officer = false claim and attempted insurance fraud.

In the state of California cops come to a scene of an auto collision only if one or the other driver is hurt if you're not they don't come and you just got to deal with trying to get the necessary information so you can resolve it with the insurance company. I turn on my dash cam every time I'm on the road especially here in Los Angeles people be driving like they own the roads and believe me I have my shell close calls with some a holes never know one of them hits you at the moment they're all saying sorry but then they flip the script when they tell their insurance they're not at fault.

In England any evidence has to be submitted before the court case,you can't just turn up on the day with dashcam evidence.The idea is to save court costs,if you can prove you are not guilty
